Mexico Map

Cartography is the study and making map. However, to add more feature and layer to the table of content of ArcGIS. Arc Catalog is the program you use to organize and manage these various datasets and document.

 In the first map the boundaries of Mexico State is illustrated. Hence, to be able to start with a query was create in order to work on it. This query SQL was creating using “select by attribute” option and then exported to the table of content. All state are label with their specific name. Furthermore, with the use of color ramp, six class of the state of Mexico were shown in the legend. Moreover, a north arrow, scale bar, scale text was added in the map. And also author, credits and date of the map are shown in the map. Finally the map was export and save as JPEG and saved as activity 2_map1.mxd.


In this map it display the Mexican Urban Areas, roads, rivers and railroads.First of all it need to be organize .Hence, more layer were added from the arc catalog .As this layer were added it create the map look cluster.Before creating annotations your map needs to be in data view. Labels and symbols were added, as well as a legend, scale bar and scale text. Finally, an inset map was created and a data frame was inserted highlighting Central America region, the map was exported to JPEG and saved as Activity2_map2.

This map shows the elevation for all Mexican central region. This is basically showing the both of map 1 and 2.The layer Mex elevation was added and the country world was remove. Then stretch the symbology was selected and hence, a color ramp was applied to show the information. On the other hand, legend, scale bar and scale text were inserted.
